We pull data from every corner of the open web. Here's what you get, what you owe us, and what we owe you.
By using ByteStack you agree to these terms. They govern every query, API call, and byte we deliver.
These Terms govern your access to ByteStack — our natural-language web data platform, REST API, SDKs, dashboard, and S3-compatible storage (collectively, the "Services").
By creating an account, sending a query, or hitting an endpoint, you accept these Terms. If you're agreeing on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it.
One account per human or organization. Keep your credentials private; you're responsible for what your account does.
You must be 18+ and able to enter a binding contract. You agree to provide accurate registration details and keep them current.
Keep your API keys, tokens, and login credentials confidential. Activity under your account is your responsibility — including the cost of every query it issues.
Pull data for analysis, intelligence, and product features. Don't deanonymize people, scrape gated content, or violate robots.txt at the source.
You may use the Services to query, analyze, and visualize data from publicly available sources for research, analytics, intelligence, and product features.
You may not: target individuals for surveillance or harassment; bypass authentication, paywalls, or rate limits at source sites; train models in violation of source-site terms; redistribute raw datasets; or use ByteStack to generate content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes IP.
You own your queries and outputs. We retain raw scrape logs for 90 days and de-identified usage analytics indefinitely.
You retain ownership of your queries and the structured outputs we deliver. You grant ByteStack a non-exclusive license to operate the Services on your behalf — execute scrapes, cache intermediate results, and surface telemetry to you.
We retain raw scrape logs for 90 days for debugging and abuse mitigation, then purge. Aggregate, de-identified usage analytics may be retained indefinitely.
Free tier is metered. Paid plans bill monthly in advance, usage overages monthly in arrears. No surprises.
The free tier includes 1,000 queries/month against the public source list. Paid plans bill the subscription portion monthly in advance and usage-based overages monthly in arrears.
Failed charges trigger a 7-day grace period during which the API returns 402. After that, the account is read-only until billing is restored.
ByteStack's platform, code, and brand are ours. Your queries and outputs are yours. Source data belongs to its publishers.
ByteStack, the wordmark, the logomark, and all platform code remain our property. These Terms grant no license to use our trademarks beyond accurate references.
Output you generate through the Services — query results, charts, exports — belongs to you, subject to upstream rights of the original data publishers.
We process the minimum personal data needed to operate. Full details live in our Privacy Policy.
Our Privacy Policy describes what we collect, how we use it, and your rights. By using the Services you consent to processing as described there.
We do not sell personal data. We share it only with sub-processors listed in our DPA, under contractual confidentiality.
Services are provided as-is. We don't warrant that source data is complete, current, or error-free.
Except as expressly stated, the Services are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
ByteStack fetches from third-party sources. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or availability of source data, nor that any specific source will remain reachable.
Cap is 12 months of fees. No indirect, consequential, or special damages.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ByteStack's aggregate liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or the Services is limited to the greater of (a) USD 100 or (b) fees you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Neither party is liable for indirect, consequential, incidental, special, or punitive damages, or loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill.
Either side can end this agreement, anytime. We'll give 30 days for paid plans. You'll have export access for 60 more.
You may cancel anytime from the dashboard. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, abuse, security risk, or if required by law.
For paid plans, we will provide at least 30 days' written notice of termination for convenience. After termination, you have 60 days of export-only access before stored data is purged.
Delaware law governs. Disputes go to arbitration in San Francisco, except where consumer law forbids.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.
Any dispute will be resolved by binding arbitration in San Francisco, California, under the JAMS Streamlined Rules — except that either party may seek injunctive relief in court for IP or confidentiality matters.
